That's right folks, for the first time since we opened in 1996 the local by-law enforcement received a complaint. The nature of the complaint which turned out to be unfounded centered around this persons' belief that we were allowing young children to view pornography. Nothing could be further from the truth. We have always held firm in the belief that minors should not have access to porn. The enclosed room in the back of Godivas is off limits to those under the age of 18 and signs are clearly displayed. Anyone wishing to rent adult film must sign up for a rental membership with two pieces of identification proving their age and address. This information is kept on file according to provincial legislation. Furthermore we do not hire people under the age of 18 to work at Godivas unlike many local variety stores who often rent out adult film and hire minors as clerks.
