Visit the Marijuana Party of Canada Web Site They Couldn't Keep Us Out! Monday June 7 2004 It was tough, right down to the wire, the electoral office was not very helpful about verifying your signatures, but through our persistence and your support, we got in right at the last minute. Some of you may have noticed that Jim was not able to open the store this morning. This was largely due to the fact that his efforts to become registered have been thwarted by the powers that be. Although we turned in a whopping 200 names and signatures gathered over 1 week, we were told this morning that only 47 of the 100 needed to qualify were verifiable. So, James spent the morning doing the job the Electoral office wasn't able to accomplish over the weekend and "VIOLA" all 100 verified signatures were submitted and Oxford County gets a new candidate. It all started Friday when James was told by staff at the Electoral office that the check for his nomination fees had not yet made it in to the office. After a few harried phone calls we were able to establish that the check was indeed at the electoral office where it had been since having been signed for on the previous day. Thank you! to all who signed Jim's nomination papers. As we looked over the papers we noted that all though some names included were not legible and some were not from this riding. Most of the material presented was pertinent and legible including my own name which appeared concisely on several papers that I witnessed, but none the less I had to call in to verify the spelling of my name. There was initially some question as to whether or not I was on the voters list, however this problem was also rectified once I called in to the office. I can only wonder, in light of these proceedings, why it is that we are the people not taken seriously. Do not these symptoms reflect irresponsibly on their part. Let's start voting for responsible government. Stop the Lying!
