Recently Jim has been diagnosed with skin Cancer, a condition that he has been suffering from for a couple of years now. The Cancer is now in the second stage and although Jim has undergone 4 surgeries to try to remove the cancer, it still thrives.
Aside from prevention, early detection is crucial to eliminating cancer once it forms. Although we knew that something was wrong for some time, even our doctor was hesitant to diagnose the problem as Cancer for a couple of years.

Jim will undergo 4 weeks of intense radiation therapy every day in London, and depending upon the results, he may need to have his entire nose replaced with a prosthetic.
There are many side effects to radiation therapy that are not pleasant, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, hair loss, hearing loss, loss of sight, risk of infections, just to name a few.
Update...
James received a good report during his 10 week post radiation check up appointment @ the Cancer Clinic. He was told that everything seems to appear normal (but not painless) and unless we notice any changes, he need not return until into the New Year! These good tidings accompanied strict warnings to stay protected from the sun 100%
